It depends on how big the cleft is. I choice (if it is a modest crack) is model glue (plant in the model toy section at box stores). This works by melding the plastic together.

If at that place are chunks missing out of it, there are a few options. Epoxy (already mentioned), water-proof caulk, and I also think in that location is a JB weld for plastics (establish in near Ace Hardware stores).

Try going to a bathtub sales store and explain your predicament to them. They don't bite! They will tell y'all what to use and how to do information technology. Lowes and Habitation Hardware volition probably be your all-time bets. Good luck. Take a movie, if possible.

I keep seeing Television set ads for something called Flex-Shot, which they claim seals even very large holes and lasts at least 30 years. While I have not tried it myself, information technology sounds like it might work for your problem. You could Google it to encounter where to buy it.

They also brand a similar product called Flex-Seal for lighter applications. Both are sprays that dry as solid safe, and are used to repair many rubber and plastic objects.

Nosotros tried that flex seal and it worked for a short menses then peeled off. I called the visitor and they said it isn't recommended for shower floors because it is high traffic.

They didn't think to put that on the can.

If it is a hairline crevice, you tin use fiberglass filler. If it is deep, you may have to replace the tub.

If the cleft isn't too bad yous tin can try to get a fiberglass filler to put effectually the cleft to seal it. If the crack is really bad you may take harm nether your tub and on your flooring.

It might be best to have this checked out because the flooring tin can starting time to rot if there is a lot of water leaking from this crack.

Quite honestly, there is cypher around that house that is adept to fix this kind of issue. Depending on what is going on, you adventure having water get into your floor and walls if this is not fixed and that can cause expensive repairs.

This is 1 place non to exist penny wise and pound foolish and have a plumber await at it and exercise a professional repair.

Bonding... information technology's not a pretty fix, but it'll set it

December 22, 2013 ane found this helpful

Hi - yep, there is. We had a bad crack in our showerpan, but considering nosotros just have a crawl-space under that bathroom that no one ever goes in, nosotros were unaware of the damage. The h2o had leaked through and caused the floor joists to rot. My husband called a plumber, who 'painted on' this bubble-glue pinkish stuff that sealed the shower flooring, giving us time to save up the money for the expensive repair to re-tile the shower floor.

I bet a big-box home improvement store would have a permanent gear up (and something non so pink!)

Question: Determining if Shower Pan is Croaky?

I really tin't tell if it'southward cracked or non. I have tried looking with a flashlight but no luck. So far the fix is to line the walls and floor or rip it out, but if it isn't really cracked why exercise information technology?

It does sound as though you have a leak somewhere in that stall. Yous may want to check seams beginning every bit you may find your leak is the caulked join where the pan meets the side-walls.

If it'southward not the seams, you lot could try 'mapping' the leaking pan by pouring a pitcher full of Kool-Assist or food colouring tinted water on the pan and looking for darker lines appearing on the pan floor as the tinted fluid seeps through the cracks.

I found a cracked pan that fashion by blow years ago when I tried to dye a pan by staining information technology deliberately with a pitcher of food colouring tinted water. It did give a lovely colour to the pan only those nighttime lines appeared and my then husband said 'Holy moly, that pan is croaky and probably has been for years!' We ended up having to replace not only the entire shower stall merely almost of the bathroom sub-flooring because oh yes, that leak had been at work for a very long time!

Using the 'mapping' method may cause staining so exist sure y'all are willing to put upward with that if y'all can't get the staining off. Bon Ami should go the color off without scratching the pan surface but that'southward not guaranteed so be sure to use a complementary colour in case y'all're stuck with it.
